I had a friend/former lead tell me to learn it, since they want to hire me, but I've no idea where to start, as I've only learned rigging in maya, and also need to pick up blender, but figure UE5 might be more important job wise

Okay, question for UE5 game devs: what do you consider as rigging in engine? Is it building a rig from the ground up, with bones, skinning and paintweights on a model, or is it just using the built in tools to define controls on a pre-existing skeleton?
