I like Knives’ relationship with Elendira in trigun Maximum 🥹 It’s appealing to me how he gives her a good amount of respect and luxuries while she works for him. I do think Stampede Knives should stay away from women though lol

I think that Legato is good with kids on a surface level. He can easily spot problems like oh they’re hungry tired sick sad etc and can handle them efficiently but when the child grows into more complex/emotional issues he blanks. I think Knives is more suited to the latter

It’s interesting how the 98 anime had to characterize Legato only based off of the first two volumes, without much insight on his motivations or how deranged he can get so you get this really mellow version of him. I like to combine that with the underlying oh hes CRAZY crazy from Maximum

I just don’t think there’s anything in the manga that points to it 😩 masochism is taking pleasure in pain or humiliation and Legato at most is indifferent to his own suffering? The only time I can sort of see where that may come from is when he’s around Vash, though that is more of him-
