Decibel Boost Album Roundup MAK MUSIC 2025 Edition: OCTOBER AND HERE WE ARE!!! October! The birth month of yours truly, meaning I'm now closer to being 40. One more album round-up that I'm going to do for the year because I'm not doing November.

Oh and you can say that the Grammys are corrupt but I can definitely most of you fans are stupid and entitled (especially the ones on Tiktok and you Playboi Carti fans.)
Again, I agree with some of the snubs but the reasons you bring up for why it should be nominated is the same 'ol bullshit.

Seeing Tiktok and most reactions to the Grammys is them saying the same damn thing of either, "The Weeknd wasn't nominated", "Playboi Carti was snubbed", "Why's Anxiety there?" "Why isn't [generic white pop girl] isn't nominated for anything?"

Look, Grammys is gonna Grammys. They do stupid shit a lot, especially with that splitting up the Country Album award because of some dumbass reason. Are they corrupt? I don't know. In some parts, yeah, but if you're basing this because your favorite artist didn't get shit, that's just a you problem.

Look, I know the sentiment is that the Grammys don't matter but that saying has become too tired and cliche. It apparently matters since this is one of the few award shows that doesn't award people for their popularity, for better or worse. Hell, you get mad when the popular choice gets snubbed.

#10 - I want hip-hop to win Album of the Year - either Kendrick, Clipse or Tyler. Hip-hop hasn't won that since 2004 with Outkast and 20 plus years has been enough!! However, I'm worried that they're going to play it safe and pick someone like Sabrina Carpenter or Lady Gaga... or Justin Bieber.

But fuck it, I pick Sounwave because... well, the Grammys are too good to nominate The Alchemist for anything.

#9 - I didn't talk about pop because let's face it, pop this year was boring as shit. However, for Best Pop Duo Group performance -- 30 for 30 was pop? OK, maybe but that's pop? Fine.

#8 - For new artist... if that curse thing is not a factor anymore, then fuck it, Leon Thomas and if it is, give it to one of the forgettable white pop stars like Alex Warren or Addison Rae or whoever the fuck Sombr is.

#6 - Hey, Tyler The Creator's other album DON'T TAP THE GLASS got nominated -- for Best Alternative Music Album.

Yes, not Progressive R&B but the main Alternative Music album category, joining the likes of Bon Iver, The Cure, Hayley Williams, and Wet Leg.

#5 - Nice to see Leon Thomas getting some Grammy love. I still need to take the time to listen to his stuff. Also, If I'm going to hear a remix of "MUTT", I'm sticking to the one with Freddie Gibbs on it.

#4 - I'm going to be completely honest -- I didn't expect The Weeknd to get any nominations here for Hurry Up Tomorrow and I'm not shocked he didn't. However, I don't feel annoyed as I did with After Hours. Then again, Hurry Up Tomorrow is a weaker album. I still like it but it's not the strongest.

#3 - For song written for visual media -- again, Sinners and it's between "Pale, Pale Moon" and "I Lied to You". No offense to Rod Wave but I forgot about his song even when I watched the end credits of that.

However, y'all saying Playboi Carti or Chance the Rapper should've gotten a nom --- yeah, no. Thousand times fuck no. Y'all are reaching for that bullshit.

#2 - For soundtrack and score soundtrack -- give that shit to SINNERS! Look, KPop Demon Hunters was fun but SINNERS kills it on that front.

and I have no problem with none of the albums.

I think the rap albums nominated for Best Rap Album are probably the ones I have the least problem with. Yeah, I wish Alfredo 2 was nominated but I didn't really expect it. Hell, I didn't expect the first one to be nominated (cont.)

OK, I'm late on this but I have some #Grammys thoughts on the recent nominations.

Going forward before posting anything or forming an opinion, please read more than just the headline, also give Democrats a little more benefit of the doubt before jumping on their head.
