The illithid’s head tilted, tentacles swaying ever so slightly. “Sun drinker?”

Eshenesra would then feel it, like a burglar trying the windows of a home, something was trying to acces her mind, trying sift through her thoughts, searching for information on what she spoke of.

“Those aboard my vessel call me Captain. You may do the same.” Beady eyes drawn to necklace, examining it as he continued speaking.

“You are either braver or more foolhardy than most, to continue speaking with me. Do you not fear for your safety?”

That earns a laugh. Not only telepathically, where all the words have been coming from… but also from the illithid’s beak; a grating, hoarse, sickening, and unnatural sound.

“Quick witted, you are. Tell me your name.”

And let’s say you hit the nail on the proverbial head with your first guess.

Why might I not care if I’m seen? If I’m caught?

There are only three reasons why a criminal would not hide their face. Can you tell me what they are?

The Captain sails the Dominance, a crew of pirates made up of thralls he has stolen from port towns and other ships.

Those that are not conscripted into service are fed upon and then disposed of, fed to the sharks that follow the dreaded ship on its journeys.

If you encounter the Dominance at sea, there are two options:
you join the crew or you feed the Captain.
