My little niece has created a world called Number City populated by a bunch of number plushies. For Christmas, I'm sewing her a couple of greater than and less than monsters.

This isn't a criticism of reality, by the way. I like being reminded of Shrek. I've simply decided to document the daily appearances of Shrek in my life.

Every day reality likes to remind me of the existence of Shrek. Today I came across a hand-painted Shrek bobblehead. Yesterday Shrek was the answer to a question in the House of Games episode I watched. Shrek will once again show himself tomorrow.

Bat update: I didn't see any bats again tonight but I thought about a few of them.

I'm out on another short walk around the neighborhood as unofficial town sorcerer. I've remembered my hand-embroidered flower cap, my bag of unsalted peanuts, chapstick, and an ET figurine for good luck. I'm on the lookout for omens, corvids, ducks, geese, and other small and medium-sized creatures.

Everyone's showed up today. The crows, Muscovy duck, the swan geese, the Canada geese, the graylag Canada geese hybrids, the mallards, a fox squirrel, a snowy egret.

Awesome! I only have the one ET but they're so cool.

Once again, I'm mildly heartbroken to report that no town anywhere in the world has yet to hire me as official town sorcerer. I can't say that I blame them, as my charms are almost ineffective at best. Also, I've only made friends with about twenty wild birds, but I'm doing my best.
