So...if we can't really discover our entire, authentic self in a "settled" way, why seek?
Hit the Mind Uncensored link in the thread for my answer.

Yes, we "find ourselves." The gurus aren't wrong about that.
No, we don't do it all at once in a massive flash of enlightenment.
It happens little by little. Every day. For our entire lives. And we STILL might not gather all the pieces.
Your book has to get out as quickly as possible.
That doesn't mean you should skip time where it's on the shelf.
Leaving a manuscript alone isn't irresponsible. It's how good books become great.

My latest FREE blog (link in the thread) highlights how an increasingly common form of NDAs can do real damage to writers AND the clients they work for.

Not all NDAs are gross for writers. Many offer valid protections.
But most NDAs we see in ghostwriting?
They don't fall into that category.
I explain why it's OK to back off your social media posts in the latest edition of the Takingdictation blog.

I said what I said.
If you're exhausted by how much time posting constantly takes, well, here's your out. Building platforms through frequency won't cut it anymore. It's officially Post Only When Your Content Has Depth season.

It's hard to know which type of intelligence to focus on and develop. But in my latest edition of Mind Uncensored, I argue that spiritual intelligence--which we shouldn't confuse with religion--is the ring to rule them all.

Success requires us to be...
...emotionally intelligent--grasping our feelings and the feelings of others,
...socially intelligent--understanding interpersonal dynamics,
...linguistically intelligent--aware of our words and how to communicate effectively,
...and so on through the alphabet.
If you're concerned about youth mental health and what it means for future wellbeing, get the details with this edition of Mind Uncensored.

What if our dismissal sets them up for even greater danger in an even more demanding workplace later on?

Stories of medical emergencies from burnout are increasingly common from executives and other professionals.
But what if our young people are already having similar experiences, and because of their age, we just dismiss it?
Why You Should NOT Abandon Your Author Website

Author websites can be pricey to maintain. Is one worth it if it doesn't DIRECTLY lead to book sales?
In this video, I explain why I wholeheartedly say yes.
Hint: Are you thinking full platform?

If you've got the energy and resources to set a New Year's Resolution (or a bunch), I applaud you.
But if you're not in that place, I have a message.
Maintenance, defense, and simple fortification of what you already have committed to are OK, too.

If you get up early, even that annoying bird that wakes up all the others seems to parrot the gurus:
Do NOT check your email. That's handing others your control.
To that, I say pffffft.
Here's how I make morning #email work WITHOUT letting others dictate my day (link in the thread).

Ever have anybody tell you to keep your #writing lean?
It's not horrible advice for certain types of writing. But for many drafts, trimming to the bones can damage your impact.
