Mr. Zuckerberg was amenable. He signaled to Mr. Miller and his colleagues, including other senior Trump advisers, that he would do nothing to obstruct the Trump agenda, according to three people with knowledge of the meeting, who asked for anonymity to discuss a private conversation. Mr. Zuckerberg said he would instead focus solely on building tech products.

Mr. Zuckerberg blamed his former chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg, for Facebookโ€™s culture, according to one of the people with knowledge of the meeting. He said new guidelines and a series of layoffs amounted to a reset and that more changes were coming.

It really is such masculine energy to blame things on a woman who no longer works at the company www.nytimes.com/2025/01/16/u...

This might be one of the most under-utilized concepts for helping leaders understand and use their power.

We added some (hopefully helpful) context and signs/symptoms of when you're moving from one zone into another.

Five
gaining power, losing love

FEMINIST women stopped talking about love because we found that love was harder to get than power. Men, and patriarchal females, were more willing to give us jobs, power, or money than they were to give us love. And many of us wanted and needed money. Bombarded by statistics that talked about how a woman's income dropped to next to nothing when she left a man.

If feminists had continued to talk about love, then we would have needed to speak about the extreme loveless-ness that is at the heart of domination. We would not have been able to go forward with our newly acquired equal rights, jobs, money, and power without telling everyone that we had discovered that patriarchy, like any colonizing system, does not create the context for women and men to love one another. We would have needed to remind everyone repeatedly that genuine love between females and males could emerge only in a context where the sexes would come together to challenge and change patriarchal

Iโ€™d take it a bit further and suggest we shouldnโ€™t be โ€œtreatingโ€ it at all - itโ€™s a symptom of all of those things youโ€™ve mentioned (along with more, Iโ€™m sure), and believing itโ€™s the treatable problem is a rabbit hole with no bottom.

Episode 3: Jeff Couillard and Navigating Power Dynamics in Professional Spaces Podcast Episode ยท The Power Dynamic Podcast ยท 2024-08-27 ยท 53m

We need a new model for navigating power dynamics.

Because power-over and power-as-control are what facilitate so much of the misuses and abuses of power in our world.

Grateful to dig into it with Dr. Amanda Aguilera on The Power Dynamic podcast recently.

I've tuned out 99% of mainstream thought leadership.

Because most of the time it's a tired repetition of reinforcing the status quo.

But @francesfrei.bsky.social and Anne Morriss are in that 1% of leadership thinkers who aren't afraid to (compassionately) challenge us all do do and be better.

Confidence is often perceived as an individual traitโ€”something you either have or you donโ€™t.

But is that truly the case?

In reality, confidence is co-created. Itโ€™s about the environment we foster, the trust we build, and the psychological safety leaders provide.
