i think i'm just broadly of the opinion that if you're telling me how to verify the security of my wire transfer instructions, the process should not involve turning off antivirus software and ad blockers. that sounds like you're making it worse, not better.

so i moved, and i'm selling my old house, and the title company uses a third party to "prevent wire fraud". the third party's page says it's "securing my connection", then announces that it's failed, and INVALIDATES THE REQUEST. here's their explanation:

Yeah, this is like, rule one of moderation: You *have* to treat the moderators as *less* protected or you will end up with them being dramatically more protected in obviously unfair ways, and even if you were theoretically fair, it would *look* unfair.

I hate things like this because I think they're just plain wrong. There's a semantic difference between "use" and "utilise". They are not interchangeable!
