I do think this also applies to TV shows and now audio dramas, thanks to Chaotix Casefiles. We're seeing these characters more often in different ways. The problem is that they don't always feel consistent all the time across the different mediums.

Before we were trying to analyze a story in a game, that has so many other elements that impact how the story is told in the end.

Now we can just focus on ‘how a canon sonic story should feel’ separate from gaming trends and influences
