yeah the damage a single bad billionaire can do wildly outstrips any positive impact even a theoretically ideal billionaire can have

more, I think that the kind of person you need to be to become a billionaire tends to select for the worst outcomes in all but the rarest of cases

this is not an amount of money any individual or household should be able to have and we have to abolish both billionaires as a group and the economic system that makes them possible

Surprise! The Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post is against my 5% billionaire wealth tax. I wonder why?

If enacted, Bezos would owe $12 billion in taxes, and an average family of 4 would receive a $12,000 direct payment.

Poor Jeff would be left with just $224 billion to survive.

AI-generated artwork is officially not eligible for copyright protection after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to review the appeal.

The court ruled that a work must have a human creator in order to qualify for copyright.

You are RIGHT that they feel different, and we SHOULD mention it!

I do think this also applies to TV shows and now audio dramas, thanks to Chaotix Casefiles. We're seeing these characters more often in different ways. The problem is that they don't always feel consistent all the time across the different mediums.

Before we were trying to analyze a story in a game, that has so many other elements that impact how the story is told in the end.

Now we can just focus on β€˜how a canon sonic story should feel’ separate from gaming trends and influences

I know people have mixed feelings about IDW Sonic, but I am SO GLAD we get stories more frequently so we can better discuss how we see these characters.

That’s part of the reason I like that they are canon. I think it still needs improvement, but we only get there when the feedback happens often

I didn’t know Microslop was a thing until I saw headlines about Microsoft trying to ban Microslop on its Discord. Now I shall say Microslop a lot. That’s how it works.

It’s good when Microsoft, a company that likes genocide and environmental destruction, doesn’t like things.

Calling AI "slop" has been one of the most effective instances of the public rebranding a product and it pisses them off.

I was born in Cascadia, and nurtured by the lifebreath produced by it's forests. To destroy them is to destroy a fundamental part of this country. This administration continually proves itself an apt candidate for a group of villains you would expect to see in an episode of Captain Planet, and I will not stand for it. I say NO to these inane logging proposals, I say NO to the deforestation of our beautiful country, I say NO to the rampaging greed that is ruining the Union.

A big part of the authoritarian playbook is war. War takes over the news. War blots out criticism. War divides a nation’s people, subjecting those against it to being called unpatriotic. War grants leaders all sorts of emergency powers. War consumes everything else.

We mustn’t let this war do so.

I'm no writer or comic artist, but this is how I would've handled it. I think part of the problem in the original is the pacing through the panels. There isn't much space. I took some liberties to change the dialogue to what I think it could work.

Nope. We don't have to do this. The courageous act would be to refuse. Jingoist slop like this is an enormous factor in why the US has been terrorizing the world for decades. There are no heroes bombing Iran.

When this ICE shit started, a mutual I’d never met asked how to help. I sent him to a friend’s kid’s preschool that was struggling to find patrollers. He’s been there almost daily, even in brutal cold, at a school where he didn’t know anyone, to keep folks safe. We finally met and got beers tonight.
