I wrote a story for this last year! It's well organized, low pressure, and for an excellent environmental cause. Creatives who are animal lovers or naturalists of any kind should defintely apply if you have time to make something this winter.

16.11.2025 18:41 β π 16 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ugh, it sucks. At least they can check your social media and contact you via a genuine account if they have doubts. But the whole AI/bot/scammer thing is definitely eroding trust between genuine humans π
14.11.2025 19:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you for this post! One of the saddest things about this is that years ago a famous author really did email me with supportive words about my first novel. She was genuine and later blurbed my next book. It was so encouraging! Nowadays I'd likely think the first approach was fake π
14.11.2025 18:56 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Important reading. I had a similar, yet different, experience where a "well-known author" engaged nicely but slightly weirdly (AI alert!) via social media (fake account) and tried to get me to buy her "friends" books.

The cover of THE MISEDUCATION OF CAROLINE BINGLEY by Lindz McLeod. Two women in regency dress sit on a pink picnic blacket. The blonde woman in the light yellow dress offers a bright red apple to the dark-haired woman in the purple dress. Behind them we can see a lake and in the far distance, two horses stand in front of a grand house.
After demanding to know why Mr Darcy never saw her as a potential match, Miss Caroline Bingley receives an answer more truthful than she'd like. Wounded, she turns to his sister, Georgiana, to help her become a kinder, sweeter version of herself... and finds a real romance along the way β€οΈ

02.11.2025 00:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0ARC copies of How To Fake It In Society. Image is hand drawn in a sophisticated style which is vaguely Eastern European. Two men in Regency clothes. Titus is tall, in a bright royal blue coat, glancing over his shoulder with a shy look. Nico is shorter, dark-haired, wearing a lurid green coat, bronze waistcoat, ruffled cuffs and tight pantaloons, and striking a Byronic pose with a handkerchief that matches his wasitcoat. They are standing back to back but holding hands. The tagline is Step 1: Don't fall in love. The title is in simple but elegantly flourished capitals. You can also see the spine which has cameos of both characters faces.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes and shares of the Slippery Creatures sale! I had a lovely day involving an entertainingly bad exhibition, a really delightful Booksellers Association social where I met loads of wonderful indie booksellers, and an unexpected birthday present from Tor!

The cover of the book The Bayou, by Arden Powell. It shows the stylized outline of a church, surrounded by trees, j front of a full moon. Under the church is an alligator, with glowing eyes and teeth. It all looks very sinister
Just finished The Bayou by @ardenpowell.bsky.social - delighted that I bought it on a whim when looking for more gay southern gothic after Summer Sons. Very vibey and morally ambiguous. An excellent Halloween treat, and I will for sure be reading again.
