Is an ESRI web app on mobile clunky? Yeah, probably. But I promise you, someone in their 70s googling it on their iPad won’t care. Or an 18 year old on their iPhone looking for their first polling location. They don’t want to learn to use those things, they just want an answer of what’s closest.

His solution to the poor mobile experience was that they should offer “kml or csv”

A) their web app likely does offer those
B) brother, those aren’t mobile solutions. If you can download and import a csv, or know what a kml is, you aren’t that web apps target audience anyways.

They kept referring to layers and analysis and polygons, so obviously they had like…a single GIS course once. But they also got dunked on by almost every GIS person in the city. It’s like looking at the tip of the iceberg that sank the Titanic and thinking that’s what did it in.

Someone in the city subreddit asked why they are wasting money on ArcGIS just to host voting maps. “It’s way overkill!”

The irony being that rich people will be the ones who can afford to pay for quality, human provided services rather than being stuck with no options but AI Slop. It’s great to maximize the bottom line, but they would never personally trust it.

I wanted this style of jacket, but the armpits looked off, so instead I got the Barbour equivalent that costs almost 5x as much. At least the fit is better, and I feel fancy.

Blue Sky explore search results for Chicago returns “no results found for Chicago”

Is there a reason why the search of Chicago pulls no results and everything on the Chicago feed only shows mentions that are 23 min or older? I don’t think people suddenly stopped talking about an entire city.

We’re set to inherit at least 3 full sets of china. I have no clue what the plan is.

That’s what my doctor told me. I only have a symbicort inhaler, to use once a day and then as needed, but my symptoms are mild so YMMV.

I can’t remember, it was mostly just to learn how to design the experiments. Both cats were very well behaved and fluffy, and one was wobblier.

(By experiments, we mean how they responded to stimuli like treats and feather wands. No wobbly cats were harmed in these classes)

Our first year psych class involved designing experiments to test our prof’s two wobbly cats and try to quantify their abilities. It was a great lesson, plus it meant an entire class of first years got to love on the cats. They were “experimented” on annually.

I’ve gained like 5 lbs from Halloween candy and living my life like a bear before hibernation. I want to get back on track, but also there’s still so much Halloween candy and it’s almost hibernation time.

But it comes out of the mouth! So it’s speech!
