60 years ago today was a tough one for fans of classic sitcoms. William Frawley (I LOVE LUCY and MY THREE SONS) died of a heart attack at 79, and Alice Pearce (the first Gladys Kravitz on BEWITCHED) was only 48 when she succumbed to ovarian cancer.

Six decades later, their work still brings joy.

Remembering the wonderful James Doohan, born OTD in 1920.

Illustrator Leo Dillon was born OTD in 1933. Together with his wife Diane they created covers for a dark, challenging wave of speculative fiction masterworks, including the Ace SF Specials and Harlan Ellison's books. He would go on to work extensively in children's lit. Leo died in 2012.
