De prijsuitreiking vindt plaats in november 2026 in de KB | nationale bibliotheek, Den Haag. 7/8

Let op: inzendingen betreffen uitsluitend boeken (bijv. monografieën, catalogi, wetenschappelijke edities). Scripties, proefschriften in manuscriptvorm en losse tijdschriftartikelen komen niet in aanmerking. 6/8

• de Menno Hertzberger Aanmoedigingsprijs, voor een veelbelovende onderzoeker met een in de jaren 2022-25 verschenen boekpublicatie binnen ditzelfde veld.

Iedereen kan kandidaten voordragen; zelfvoordracht wordt aangemoedigd. 5/8

Er worden twee prijzen toegekend:
• de Menno Hertzbergerprijs, voor een uitmuntende boekpublicatie op het gebied van de geschiedenis van het gedrukte boek (inclusief van prenten en cartografie) van de Lage Landen in brede zin, verschenen in 2022-2025; 4/8

Met de prijs wordt zijn inzet voor de studie en waardering van het boek als cultureel erfgoed voortgezet, onder auspiciën van de Nederlandsche Vereeniging van Antiquaren en de KB | nationale bibliotheek. 3/8

De Menno Hertzbergerprijs wordt in november 2026 voor de 19de keer uitgereikt. De prijs is genoemd naar Menno Hertzberger (1897–1982), Nederlands antiquaar, uitgever en bibliofiel, die zich zijn leven lang inzette voor het boek in al zijn verschijningsvormen. 2/8

Please note: Submissions are limited to books (such as monographs, catalogues, or scholarly editions). Theses, dissertations in manuscript form, and individual journal articles are not eligible. 6/8

• The Menno Hertzberger Encouragement Prize, for a promising researcher with a book publication in the same field, published between 2022 and 2025.

Anyone may nominate candidates; self-nomination is encouraged. 5/8

Two prizes will be awarded:

• The Menno Hertzberger Prize, for an outstanding book publication in the field of the history of the printed book (including the history of prints and cartography) of the Low Countries in the broad sense, published between 2022 and 2025; 4/8

The award continues his commitment to the study and appreciation of the book as cultural heritage, under the auspices of the Nederlandsche Vereeniging van Antiquaren and the KB | National Library of the Netherlands. 3/8

The Menno Hertzberger Prize will be awarded for the nineteenth time in November 2026. The prize is named after Menno Hertzberger (1897–1982), Dutch antiquarian bookseller, publisher, and bibliophile, who dedicated his life to the book in all its forms. 2/8
