About 20% of the British Asian vote went to β€œOther” which is mostly independents of some kind at the 2024 election, and 11% to the Greens. Since the Greens are doing much better now than then in urban areas I’d guess the greens ate quite a bit of the 20%

And the idea it’s categorically different to integrate Peruvians to Spain than Nigerians to Britain is disproven by the fact we had a massive terrorism problem with people from *Ireland

Sectarianism, sectarian violence and ethnic minority bloc voting have all massively decreased, not increased, in the UK since 1997 (including bloc voting in the Muslim community which until recently voted Labour by Assad numbers)

There’s less to worry about than there is in most other western countries, including Spain. On virtually every measure.

That there is very little evidence we need to be worried about integration as a particular problem

The children of African immigrants outperform white Brits in school

Venezuela’s per capita GDP is barely 10% higher than India’s, the majority of immigrants from India and Nigeria speak English and the UK demonstrably integrates immigrants better than virtually anywhere else on Earth

I thought those reasons were they thought AI might destroy the world but now it seems to be they think it’s alive and has like, civil rights?

That seems bizarre not bc one wound try to impose their views on the other just bc these are presumably two, like 99th percentile political obsessives, do they not just argue about independence constantly? Do they watch election night together?

That video shows the ruler β€œwalking on his own” surrounded by a large entourage?

I don’t think Americans move to Dubai do they? They move to Florida

Yeah what’s actually happening is as Hindus and Sikhs get rich and integrated and just vote like white people and Muslims feel disrespected by the system, the attachment my grandparents have to labour as the party that doesn’t want to deport us and didn’t have Enoch Powell dissolves

28.02.2026 16:31 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

In this case I think a plurality voted green with a significant minority voting Labour, as with everyone else in the seat

Wait did something happen?

They poll at 46% with 18-24s, 4% either over 65s d3nkl3psvxxpe9.cloudfront.net/documents/Vo...

28.02.2026 15:53 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Well the percentage of people over 65 voting green is essentially negligible

Ok when did the pentagon start calling their soldiers warriors like they’re fucking Dothraki

28.02.2026 15:25 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Is there even any evidence that as a class Muslims are more likely to vote green than say, white women under 30

28.02.2026 15:21 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

No I also thought that but he’s still Paris and they’re not doing ground troops

28.02.2026 15:17 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

When they started I assumed they were trying to airlift Pahlavi in but it’s not even *that* thought through?

I actually think this level of repeated humiliation is regime threatening, but what comes next will not be pro American lmao

28.02.2026 15:11 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

β€œWe’re doing regime change”
β€œWhat are you changing the regime to?”
β€œA changed one”

IN FAVOUR OF WHO?!

Don’t forget the other brilliant diplomats in that government like that guy who went to New York and told American Jews their interethnic marriages were a second holocaust, and the foreign ministry spokesperson who got in a twitter fight with the FCDO!

(And I acknowledge as Chris says, this by election really wasn’t that phenomenon but it freaked them out so much they think the entire left is that phenomenon)

Also, while I basically thought the Gaza independents from 2024 were modern Kidderminster hospital independents and about as historically significant, turns out Muslim voters being a group politicians have to actually campaign for was tested in Westminster as 9/11 times 1000 youtu.be/1ymsJu3ANOI?...

Nightclub bouncers and coppers both wear lanyards now!

(Actually Glasman definitely thinks that’s woke)

I guess I like Sadiq Khan far more than his policy record justifies because he feels like he was the one person who’d go on tv and say multiculturalism is good, immigrants are good, London is fun and my social milieu are β€œhis people”.

Burnham’s king of the north schtick something similar?

I don’t get it (he seems…fine?) but I lived in London at peak Khan and Wales at peak Drakeford, and never heard anything like my Manc colleague who said he’d done such great things for them that if he forces a mayoral by election to go be PM, he’s earned it

Reminds me of the kind of inchoate anger at the other end of the political spectrum about immigration in the 2000s
