Pretti, 37, has an address listed in south Minneapolis. At a news conference, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said the man who was shot was a 37-year-old white man with no serious criminal history and a record that showed some parking tickets. Law enforcement sources said Saturday their records show Pretti had no serious criminal history.
The Strib has identified him. Alex Pretti. Another 37-year-old executed for standing up for our immigrant neighbors. For shame.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

He says he’s speaking out because he’s white, he has privilege and if he doesn’t use it to stand up for others, who will?
That is what solidarity looks like.
This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia.
Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.”
Really listen to it.
A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.
I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

For 2 yrs I've shown this @ourworldindata.org graph to my students at @temple.edu & I've finally decided that I need to quit eating beef (& apparently prawns?). The data tells me it simply is not environmentally responsible. I'm also working to reduce consumption of other high carbon foods & dairy.
