And then to tell if they’re sick usually there’s signs like unusually stinky or discolored poo, discharge from eyes nose, underweight, slimy mouth. Or they pass very quickly unfortunately, despite our efforts.
When I wiped the gunk from his beak I realized it smelled like mango, and if it had been fresh it shouldn’t have gotten sticky and stuck like that and he would have had time to clean his beak before any mess did get sticky. Plus I knew it was mango season. And then it was just observe and wait.

This guy! When he was brought in the finder didn’t know what was wrong but he wasn’t skittish or moving much. Thought he was sick cause of the stuff on his beak. When I cleaned it up turned out the fella had feasted on a fermented mango😂 he was able to be released a couple days after
