Authors out there!
My next book is coming out in 2026 with OUP, and I am thinking about hiring a book publicity/marketing firm. The book is on challenges to honesty in society, and is written for a general audience. Do you have any recommendations of people or firms in this space? Thanks so much!

Could A Good God Permit So Much Suffering? A Debate As J. L. Mackie (1955, 200) formulated the so-called logical problem of evil: God is omnipotent; God is wholly good; and yet evil exists. There seems to...

"The thought of them engaging in fruitful debate on such a perennial problem struck me as a tantalizing prospect. I’m therefore sorry to report that the great promise of this volume largely failed to materialize."

Think about all the good that compassionate people have done in the world, and contrast this with all the harm caused by those full of cruelty and hate. What world would you rather live in? And what kind of people do you want your children to becomeβ€”people who grow up to make the world a better or a worse place? Surely it is the former. But if that is what you want for your children, why wouldn't you want the same thing for yourself, right now? There is always time to change our character. It is never stuck in the mud, but is improvable, at least slowly. So just as we want our children to grow up to make the world a better place, so too should we want ourselves to "grow up" to the fullest, morally speaking.

@charactergap.bsky.social Christian Miller defended an account of patience as a virtue. Coleen Macnamara spoke about the praiseworthiness of morally required action. Gwen Bradford’s work got a shout-out!
