I was admittedly very frustrated by my inability to read between the lines with these two games, because they are so rich with meaning. They are both made by very passionate small teams who love video games and storytelling and it's genuinely so cool and refreshing to see that these days.

I'm finally starting to figure out my broader thoughts on the stories/overall design of Silksong and Clair Obscur and what I thought both these games did extremely well, and it's insane just how many tropes and quirks in game design that these games managed to somehow avoid or put a new spin on.

I want these videos not only to act as a love letter to one of my favorite games of all time, but also as a love letter to the entirety of the Zelda franchise as a whole. I also intend on doing a supercut video of all of the craziest parts of this playthrough because this has just been so much fun.

I really wanted to push to get the first one of this batch out today, but unfortunately I was having a lot of trouble trying to find clips for a particular section. My hope is that I am going to get it out by tomorrow, but I'm not going to sacrifice quality for the sake of a deadline.

I made a post about this on YT, but I figured I haven't made an update here in a while: I'm currently working on the final videos from the BOTW Master Mode playthrough. I am still pushing to get the final three videos out over the next couple of days, but I want to make these as best as they can.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the most visually stunning games I have ever played, and I'm not even finished with Act II yet. It's honestly so impressive that a team of only 33 people were able to leverage Unreal Engine 5 to its full potential.

Soul of Cinder from Dark Souls III is such an iconic piece of boss music that you could feasibly put it over anything and it would work. I used it in my most recent BOTW video, and I think it's gotta be one of my favorite jokes that I've made in a video

There's a few moments in the Breath of the Wild video that I'm currently working on that have worked weirdly well because of the music that I've chosen for them and I'm so excited to share this video with people once it's done.

I think one of the most fun things that I've learned about working on/editing more "scripted" videos the past few months is syncing up the music with certain beats in the video itself. There's something that's just so satisfying about it.

It's because of the Calamity that the Malice corrupted her, but we have no idea when it happened. The game doesn't tell you whether it was a more recent thing that happened when Link woke up, or whether she's been like this for the past 100 years and has been waiting for Link to come and help her

Working on a video script talking about one of my favorite quests from Breath of the Wild, which is the Shrine of Wisdom quest (the one where you have to save Naydra from the Malice) and I think the most interesting thing to me is that there is no in-game explanation for how she got that way.

There's been a video essay idea I've had kicking around for a few months now about AI in video games and the whole Palworld discourse is probably the final kick I need to actually make it happen. I don't know when it will happen but I hope that it will be sometime soon

Rewatching a bunch of Teen Titans episodes (the OG/good one) for a project I'm currently working on and my god I forgot how good this show is

"Capaldi was a fantastic doctor but with terribly written episodes" (Cosmonaut Variety Hour was talking about this on a stream a few months ago lol) and this episode makes me 1000% agree with that statement. Seriously, if you haven't watched this episode, it's really truly a treat

On this 60th anniversary of Doctor Who, I'm thinking about Heaven Sent (the penultimate episode of New Who S9) and just how insane Peter Capaldi's performance as the Doctor in this episode actually is. It is legitimately one of the best performances by an actor I've ever seen, ever.

I honestly wonder what the next tech craze is gonna be after the hype from AI dies down (it's already been slowing down significantly since earlier in the year). Last year it was crypto and NFTs, and this year it's GenAI. What's next? Web design? Data marketing?
