yeah I saw something about Buffy as well and when his name comes up it is always in the context of him being overbearing or bullying - as for Gaiman there are no fucking words, he enticed and engaged a generation and then fucked it all...

ah now this I did not know - and as someone also pointed out we all loved the show and the movie, coming back two decades later might be a bit clunky...still..

Firefly teasers keep popping up on tiktok and insta, was a brilliant and sadly short lived sci-fi series made in the early 2000's by Josh Whedon after which they made a movie and that was that - but I keep seeing Fillion and other cast members torturing their fans with innuendo.

OK so a lovely friend on here recommended - The Offer - about the machinations around the making of The Godfather (no bias my favourite film) which is screening on Prime - it seems a bit niche for fans, but really it is a brilliant essay about drama and production and egos...loving it :)

Dumas' work gets a lot of adaptations and not a lot of them are especially good despite the brilliant source material.

I want Australian citizens home from Syria. Can you honestly say that those women were not under coercive control when they left? Surely some? Despite leaving, they must be able to bring their children home. They said they are happy to do whatever it takes. Let them come home.

just watching an ep of Bourdain, and as is often the case he's in France with his dear friend Eric Ripert, who runs a three michelen star restaurant in New York - he's world renowned for his fish dishes - here they are in Marseille and he just said he's never caught a fish in his life...🀣

Neither of mine needed care because cancer but my aunt was in a place here and it was so depressing visiting her - Virginia’s mum is in Portofino in Brisbane and it is quite excellent - but it all seems to be a hit and miss affair at best..

Australia’s broken aged care home support system is ensuring that loved ones live and die without dignity Alan Nicolle was already approved for urgent aged care supports, but delays and confusion under a β€˜Kafkaesque’ system made his final days exhausting and painful

The negligence is staggering…

A scorching summer has left Australian wildlife on the brink, but it doesn’t have to be this way | Euan Ritchie and Jess Harwood Unsettling predictions are now our catastrophic reality, but a brighter future is still within reach if our political leaders change course

β€œWe must change course: we owe it to current and future generations and the extraordinary and unique plants, animals and other life we share this world with.”
