“together,” suguru echoes, his voice filled with quiet determination. "now, my heat is gone but you still owe me a weekend of just you and me." suguru says and satoru chuckles.

when he pulls back, his voice is softer, steadier. “i’m here,” he says, his hand cupping suguru’s cheeks now, “i’m not going anywhere. we’ll get through this together, i promise. no more distance.”

“you’re more than enough,” suguru says quietly, but firmly. “i don’t need anyone else. i just need you, satoru."

satoru’s breath stutters as he lifts his head, finally meeting suguru’s gaze fully. he leans forward slowly, hesitant at first, before gently pressing his lips to suguru’s.

satoru closes his eyes, leaning into suguru’s touch and then he presses a soft kiss to suguru’s forehead.

“i just—” satoru starts, his voice barely above a whisper. “i’m afraid that i’ll never be able to make this right for you. that i won’t be enough to help you heal. i couldn't even kill him."

suguru continues softly, his voice steadier now, though still fragile. “i need you. i need you by my side. i’m not broken, but i will be if you pull away from me.”
