Postcards are so great for sending a random thought, a favorite memory, a compliment, a thank you, or whatever else strikes your fancy and are the perfect choice when you need to not feel pressured to write more than a few sentences. 📬💌😊

I don't want to start a thing so I'll just say that there will never be a good argument for privatizing USPS. That would be like privatizing libraries. The aim of services isn't to be run for profit, they are for serving the greater good, which USPS has been extremely successful at.

Oh, my — I’ve clearly confused you with another British postal enthusiast I follow who has posted photos of herself out and about dressed as a postbox! My apologies, but how delightful to know that you both have the ability to embody a correspondence conduit.

What a fun dress code theme! My vote, of course, is for the red, though I'm not sure you can really say you have nowhere to wear it since the internet has already seen you out and about in all your postbox splendor! Enjoy the party. 😁📮💌

This postbox, in Amsterdam’s Central station, can’t quite remember why it’s holding up a blank sign over its head. Maybe it was protesting (‘what do we want? More letters!’) Or perhaps it was part of the station’s signalling. It was a long time ago. It sighs wearily, & feels old.

Postcards are such a low-stakes way to reach out and connect with someone. I often send them to people who I know are unlikely to write back, but I frequently hear from them (by text or next time I see them in person) saying that they were excited and happy to find the postcard in the mailbox. 💌
