The answer for city centre vs town/suburban high streets is likely to be very different. Higher densities and more ‘activity’ focused stores can work for city centres (which is starting to be seen already). But is there the demand for that in towns / suburbs and if not what is the answer?

It is noticeable that the only thing they trust the government on is protecting minorities, and I’m not sure that is seen as a positive by them!

Those are very different values to the (likely more accurate) ONS figures that covered the same time period. ONS had it at 1.2% rise in Cardiff and 1.5% rise for Wales. More worrying were the rent prices: 7.3% and 6.1% increases in Cardiff and Wales respectively.
