Went out for an extremely short roll tonight and ended up having to go so slowly because of all the toads. We saw *eighteen* 😳

We had to leave all our community, friends + the area we loved behind - but it was worth it to live somewhere like this.

Over 9 months we'd applied for 20+ other properties through housing associations, checked a dozen sites every single day - this was the only 1 we were offered.

We lucked out MASSIVELY.

Getting accessible housing is *hard* when you're disabled, but don't give up. There can be a happy ending!

Finally moved house a week ago🥳

Last property wasn't at all accessible, full of damp + structural issues. Council had us in highest band, we waited 4yrs - heard nothing.

Our new place is accessible, damp free, we save money on rent, & there's an accessible forest just down the road. It's amazing 🥹

What's more stressful than moving house, you ask? Adding 3 medical appts in the week leading up to it 💀

It's really *not* great when med appts are such a huge trauma + #Autistic burnout trigger...yet here we are. I just really need help with my pain 😅

My wheelchair broke last week 😭 Had to find a cheap, quick replacement as we're moving very soon. It's not as good as my previous chair, but it means I can get out!

I did need to raise the arm rests for pain. Pool noodles are great for #disability DIY! 😂

Today my husband left me alone in public for 15mins to run an errand. In that time I managed to throw my drink ALL over myself, volcano style.

An older woman was walking past, saw it happen, & in #autistic panic I didn't know how to react so I just pretended nothing had happened.
