At a time of increasing xenophobia, racism & anti-immigrant feeling, many refugees & organisations don’t feel safe to speak out or express themselves through art.

Footnote x Counterpoints Writing Prize - Counterpoints Footnote Press and Counterpoints Arts have partnered to launch the 2026 Footnote x Counterpoints Non-Fiction Prize for writers from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

We’re excited to announce the second Footnote x Counterpoints Prize, in collaboration with the Southbank Centre. This iteration of the prize isdedicated to fiction.

The Prize champions bold new literary voices whose stories offer fresh perspectives.
