I also glanced at Fox News around mid-day, when other networks were heavily focused on the market plunge. What I saw on Fox was ten minutes of footage of a Starlink capsule that had just landed in the water, waiting for its private passengers to disembark. Must have been a slow news day.

The manifest unpopularity of Trump's policies (e.g. Wisconsin election and the stock market plunge) means that the Republicans will have to do everything they can to prevent a free and fair election in 2026. They will otherwise be unable to remain in power. We all need to prepare for that.

A few simple questions: Are the people who are working for/with DOGE getting paid? With whose money? What are their terms of employment and what rules govern their jobs? Does DOGE have a budget, and, if so, where did it come from?

While we're renaming the Gulf of Mexico, we might also want to consider renaming other bodies of water that touch our (current) borders: the Atlantic Ocean (the American Ocean); and the Pacific Ocean (the Other American Ocean).
