If you don't send us questions I'll just rant about how all legal research is either philosophy or sociology and attempts to classify it differently are an illusion

Dear Americans, speaking from an Australian context, 100+ pages is way too long for an article.

The human brain can definitely find meaning in something written by AI, just like it can find the face of Jesus in a Dorito.

My cat is roaming free, relaxed, surveying his domain, oblivious to the fact that he is going soon be stuffed into a carrier to see the vet.

The other thing about it is IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THE BEST USE CASE SCENARIOS ARE. STUDENTS ARE USING IT TO CHEAT AND NOT LEARN ANYTHING. HOW YOU INTEND FOR A PRODUCT TO BE USE DOESN'T ALWAYS MATTER

Australia should recognise Palestine. To not do so only rewards Israel’s crimes A Palestinian state cannot cure the historical injustices of Israel’s foundation, but it is a vital step towards remedying the past.

My colleague Prof Ben Saul sets out the compelling moral and legal case for recognition.

Fairness and Signaling in Bargaining Games - PhilSci-Archive

Our *new paper* explores how flexibility in social categories like gender and race can undermine unfair norms. If we can't read an identity, we can't use it to underpin discrimination. We show even a little confusion can be powerful, and advocate identity play

Very useful insights! To clarify I wasn't meaning to deny current Palestinian Statehood, just by their own logic even if it isn't, a universal ban on recognition until indisputable statehood seems, to me, to lead to strange results

And if the argument implies that it is practically impossible for new states to form, one wonders how any of the existing states ever formed in the first place...unless all of it was all illegal recognition.

Not an int lawyer: but also the arg for illegality seems to imply that states cannot recognise other entities unless they are full-fledged states. But practically could new states ever have clear territory, stable govt and ability to enter legal relations unless other states first recognise it?

Algorithmic Fairness (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy)

I wrote an entry for the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy on Algorithmic Fairness. It is here: plato.stanford.edu/entries/algo...

Wiley officially closes the Journal of Political Philosophy, which was abandoned by its editorial team and shunned by academics after Wiley attempted moves that would have compromised the journal's editorial independence.

Why do we only get one new set of teeth when we're around 7 years old?

What a waste. Hardly done any gnashing by that point.

Why can't we get a new set of teeth when we're 35? That would make a lot more sense.

Maybe even again at 65. Sharks have it sorted.
Someone should look into this imo.
