We’re not perfect, but we’re SO MUCH MORE than a few hateful small-minded posers.

We need to take back our brand.

So my fellow Ohioans, here is my challenge to you—

Ohio is home to 8 presidents, 25 astronauts, 3 major cities, an economy larger than many countries, & some of the greatest arts & educational institutions in the US.

We're the birthplace of some of the most significant innovations in history (AND Superman.)

BUT, for a state without a strong brand, he became an unwelcome mascot.

While most Ohioans see him for what he is, an angry, pathetic minority found themselves a new poster child for their simpering.

Suddenly, #GenAlpha is using “Ohio” as an insult, and people keep comparing Ohio to Florida.

Then in 2022 a self-declared hillbilly who pretended to be from Appalachia ran for the Ohio Senate.

JD Vance definitely has a brand, but it in no way represents Ohio, or any of the other places he pretends to know. He’s a grifter and a convenient mascot for Peter Thiel and the like.

It was the kind of bland, boring, confusing brand campaign that could only result from marketing by a government committee, and of course, it was an abysmal failure. Ohio did not succeed at rebranding as anything in particular.

Most people never noticed the campaign & and fewer remember it.

We didn’t really have a definitive brand. People had no real strong opinions about Ohio (negative or positive), although some people said, “they’re really into football?”

So in 2015, they took these learnings and launched the “Ohio, Find it Here” campaign.
