Horrible job rebasing. Had to destroy the old 30mm deep mdf ones and replace with the correct 20mm ones. Getting the figures to fit was very fiddly and some overhang quite a bit.

Saturday I found out that my dismounted Charioteers were on the wrong size bases, so…

A few turns in.

Played DBMM again today. I tried a four command formation instead of my usual three. My opponent had an almost mirror image of my Ancient Brits. My two allied commands went unreliable from the start. My opponent had one of his also unreliable. I struggled to get mine in line. 10 to 15 loss to me.

For #Orktober I painted two Gorka Morka Nobs plus some plastic boys I bought second hand which had been stripped and primed already. Annoyingly I found some sprue nubs on them when painting but am really happy with them. I have a Warboss and two metal Nobs to go with them that I am painting.

I’ve started to rewatch it again but can’t take it seriously enough to give it my full attention.

Thanks. I may do so. I can watch an unrealistic action Movie for a laugh but this seems ridiculous for a serious series. I really enjoyed series 1. I will finish watching The Expanse first before they stop showing that.

I got 15 minutes into season 1 episode 8 of Lioness when I figured that I should go to bed as it was past 11.30. Went to finish it the next day and found myself watching Season 2 which is crap. Turned it off after a screaming match in Episode 2. Prime has taken down Season 1.😔

Renovations completed on my DBMM built up area fortified on a difficult hill. BUAf for short. Also organised a fourth command to fit inside it.

I’ve finished a few Late War American troops for CoC. I should be able to make either 44 or 45 organisations with still plenty of figures left over. The originals were painted mid 2000’s so were fun to try and match.

As it’s #Orktober I restarted work on my Ork submarine. I had run out of ideas last year so never finished it.

The game looks excellent, what rules were you using? Asking as I have three ships and loads of Foundry Pirates etc to paint.

I think that I have done enough on these 15mm buildings. They still look like would go better with 18mm or even 20mm figures. Will see what my club mates think.

No gaming on Saturday but I picked up some stowage kits and started to spray my 15mm Russian buildings.

I'm watching it currently.

The BUAf

I played DBMM today, my Ancient Brits verses Carthaginians. I wanted to learn how to use a BUAf. (Built up fortified settlement). So the game was not serious. My Warband decided to stay back and watch while the wings got stuck in. My left wing died and the right was blocked by the BUAf. 😥

Fxxxing great.😠 Several days after making an order to a UK trader my credit card was used to run up very large payments to UK immigration. I normally use Paypal but recent events have put me off using it. I have let the trader know just in case they have a problem there.

Oh great, just set myself up to do some painting and the power just went out. Good thing that I had already put on the gas fire. We’ve had high winds all day which meant I’ve had to constantly pick up rubbish blown onto my property.

Tamiya 1/48th versus Solido.

Another batch of things that I’ve had to put aside so I can concentrate on the recent Demo game. A Solido M20 which I measured as 1/50th scale but still looks really small. Ok with 1/56th I suppose. Also the 57mm gun for the US Paras. I also finished some PSC 15mm heavy cars and a PIII.

Another bit of terrain for my Sci Fi setup up done. The openness of these Plastcraft Games walkways have been bothering me. I have assembled covers using some Plastcraft and Mantic doors plus some Sci Fi kit bits and a couple of old printer parts.

A bit of a story about them. I sold all my Afghanistan themed figures but no one has been interested in these. So when I rediscovered them I decided that they could be Unit/Swat depending on the game.😀

Earlier this week I finished off making a box to hide my compressor in. I fitted some foam to quiet the noise down but I will still have to wear ear defenders. I will have buy some fittings for the cover but for now the couch holds it on.

I’ve finished another batch of Romans pictured with an earlier set.

A painting job I keep pushing aside as more urgent jobs needed doing. Extra gun and support weapon crews and other figures to expand my CoC US Paras. Warlord figures with a single BlackTree design mine detector.

I was really happy to get my nearly 40 year old collection out for public display and was happy to get some compliments about it. I had a few conversations with strangers about the War some of whom said they had relatives on Sword beach. Some were reminded of their childhood buying Airfix kits.

The dummy 88 in the Casino had them fooled for many turns and I got several tanks with my artillery fire. A lucky chit for a mine was pulled out and I stopped the advance on one flank. The Allies ended the game with three out of four objectives taken and a secure beachhead. Some random photos.

However with three waves the momentum soon built up and they were able to breach the fixed defences. I was playing the Germans and found my carefully laid plans soon fell apart. I had three guns sighted down the beach road which did nothing. One shot at point blank range and missed. 🧵
