My Twitter timeline is full full full of posts in Farsi from people in Iran letting the world know that if they die, they stood against both the Islamic Republic and this war. My heart is breaking.

Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war.

Headlines indeed moved on too quickly from the schoolgirls in Minab. We don’t know their names. No profiles of their lives or aspirations. No smiling photos paired with quotes from grieving families.

Some dead are memorialised; others reduced to “estimated casualties.”

What a life. What a world.

Es ist psychologisch immer wieder faszinierend, wie schnell Menschen mal aggressiv, mal höhnisch gegen die Universalität des Völkerrechts agitieren, sobald das Brechen dieses Rechts ihnen zupass kommt.

Allein: Genau damit unterminieren, gefährden & verraten sie die Lehren der deutschen Geschichte.

Wer sich dazu aufschwingt, Völkerrecht als optional, als selektiv umzuformen, mag innerhalb eines Kleinstzeitfensters in einem geographischen kleinst abgezirkelten Gebiet Erfolg verspüren.

Global und zeithistorisch betrachtet ermöglichen diese Doppelstandards erst die Destruktion des Völkerrechts.

Der Krieg hat begonnen und prompt sind sie da: Die Instant-Nahostexperten, die die sozialen Medien mit ihren Gewissheiten fluten.
Die Menschen im Iran, die sich in einem Dilemma befinden, interessieren sie dabei nicht im Geringsten, denn die sind nur geopolitische Schachfiguren.

Beim @zdfde.bsky.social verwendet man inzwischen für das palästinensische Westjordanland die Bezeichnung „Samaria“, die von israelischen Siedlern genutzt wird, um ihren Anspruch zu untermauern. So wird israelischer Landraub durch den öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunk normalisiert.

Ich persönlich finde es ja nie positiv wenn Menschen aufgrund von Krieg ihre Heimat verlassen müssen.

Ich nehme an, diejenigen, die momentan den "Präventivschlag" gegen den Iran feiern, sind auch bereit, bald iranische Flüchtlinge bei sich aufzunehmen? Denn diese "Friedens- und Demokratiemissionen" in Nahost haben bisher vor allem große Flüchtlingswellen ausgelöst.
