Like is Stories 1 the best game ever no of course not, and it's certainly a very simple game, but at least it's a fucking finished game.

Seeing people in Pat's chat say it's fine to play Stories 2 if you want to wait for Stories 3 to be on sale but just read a summary of 1/skip it.

When you see the line connecting to a target, it means the monster is doing an attack that you can counter in a head to head. When you see the red directional pointer, it means they're doing a skill attack that can't be interacted with. If there's nothing, the monster is doing an AOE attack.

It's RPS but some skills attack independently of the RPS system (the yellow skills). Monsters do their primary attack types such as Velocidrome being speed until they become enraged and then they switch types, so Velocidrome becomes a technical attacker.

TBH with a modular layout the buttons can still move so this right shifted layout is still really dumb for leverless. It's not like you lift the faceplate off and the Sanwa buttons with their bezels and caps slide through the holes and stay where they are.

Also, very funny that you can tell the button positioning is like unchanged from their sticks which shove the buttons all the way to the right instead of the leverless standard of up button being the centering line so both hands get equal space on the surface. It's very uneven.

Every leverless is small, and it's not just because it's the trend and no one wants to make something crazy, it's because it's just a better form factor for leverless. It makes it easier to carry, it makes it easier to position how you want, it makes it easier to play on. Huge bulky cases are shit.

This looks like they just used the case of a stick and slapped some buttons on it, but as the leverless movement grows and advances, everyone else has realized that big huge fuckslabs of metal and weight both look like shit but also are completely unnecessary and make using the thing worse.

One of the Wachowski's made 4 as a solo endeavor to reclaim the franchise from corpo execs. They have nothing to do with 5.

I'm just saying I didn't know if it was because tons of people were hyping up 2 before I got to it. To be fair I see some people went back to look at 2 again and it's more obvious how flawed it is now when you aren't waiting 5 years for another game.
