You can stay silent until you “feel ready”…
Or say one imperfect word—and already be winning.
🏆 Every word you speak is a victory.

🌊 Big news, we have our first Whale Level learner a few weeks ago!
After thousands of lessons and countless drops, the first Flowy has grown into a whale.
And behind the scenes, our team has been crafting something to celebrate this milestone.
Stay tuned, something special is surfacing soon. 🐋

Festive Thanksgiving graphic showing turkey drumsticks decorated with national flags and the words for ‘turkey’ in different languages: English — Turkey, French — la dinde, Chinese — 火鸡, Greek — galopoúla, Indonesian — kalkun, German — Truthahn, Spanish — tacchino (incorrectly paired with the Spanish flag instead of Italian). Text reads: ‘There’s one “turkey” imposter among us!’ surrounded by fall leaves and a cartoon turkey holding a pumpkin.

There’s one ‘turkey’ imposter among us! 👀

Can you spot which one isn’t actually the bird? 🤔

🌊 Meet Flowy, your learning fish.
It started as a tiny vocab word, drifting through the vast ocean of learning.
With every lesson, it grew braver, brighter, and friendlier.
Now, we have some other Whale Level learners. 🐋
Where will your learning journey take your fish?

Flip-flops, sandals, chanclas… one object, a thousand names! What do you call these in your country?

From small talk to real talk — you made awkward silences… fluent.
Here’s to the tutors who make every “¿Cómo estás?” the start of something more. ❤️

We understand how frustrating this feels. The new design should not make it harder to navigate or find lessons, especially on mobile. italki is about connecting real teachers and students. Please share your feedback with support@italki.com
so our team can review.

We get it — finding tutors should never feel like a quest. The redesign made things harder than intended, and we’re working to make it simple again. italki is still about real teachers and lessons, and your feedback helps us get back to that focus.

Today was so fun! I met my italki sensei in person after more than a year of zoom classes and went for a hike with her and her husband in Arima Onsen. Then I went back to Tokyo and ate some amazing cold crab ramen and also found two kanji games I was looking for at the Akiba Book Off.
