From small talk to real talk — you made awkward silences… fluent.
Here’s to the tutors who make every “¿Cómo estás?” the start of something more. ❤️

We understand how frustrating this feels. The new design should not make it harder to navigate or find lessons, especially on mobile. italki is about connecting real teachers and students. Please share your feedback with support@italki.com
so our team can review.
We get it — finding tutors should never feel like a quest. The redesign made things harder than intended, and we’re working to make it simple again. italki is still about real teachers and lessons, and your feedback helps us get back to that focus.

Today was so fun! I met my italki sensei in person after more than a year of zoom classes and went for a hike with her and her husband in Arima Onsen. Then I went back to Tokyo and ate some amazing cold crab ramen and also found two kanji games I was looking for at the Akiba Book Off.

A bold, minimalist quote graphic on a red-orange background with cream-colored Lora font. The quote reads: “One sentence a day keeps the monolingual life away.” The text is centered and designed in a square layout with clean typography.
Monolingual? Couldn’t be me. Start small—just one sentence a day keeps the awkward silences away.

18.09.2025 03:42 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Illustration of a festive Oktoberfest-themed graphic featuring nine cartoon beer mugs, each styled with a different national flag and a common toast expression in that country's language. The text at the top reads “There’s one imposter among us.” The mugs and toasts are as follows: 🇪🇸 Spain: “¡Salud!” 🇵🇹 Portugal: “Saúde!” 🇷🇺 Russia: “На здоровье! (Na zdoróvye!)” 🇳🇱 Netherlands: “Proost!” 🇹🇭 Thailand: “ชนแก้ว! (Chon gâew!)” 🇬🇷 Greece: “Γειά μας!” 🇹🇷 Turkey: “Şerefe!” 🇩🇪 Germany: “Cin Cin!” (note: “Cin Cin” is actually Italian, not German) At the bottom, the word “OKTOBERFEST” is written in large green letters above two frothy beer mugs clinking together, suggesting a celebration. Decorative bunting in red, yellow, and green stretches across the top, adding a festive vibe. The “imposter” refers humorously to the mismatch between the toast and flag on one of the mugs.
Oktoberfest kicks off Sept 20 🍺 — when cultures from around the world raise their glasses in every language: ¡Salud! Santé! Kanpai! Prost! and more. But beware… one of these ‘cheers’ is an imposter. Can you spot it before your next sip?
