If you have to say "trying to be..." and then state an imperative it's usually because you know you're not.

"I'm trying to be nice here"

"I'm trying to be genuine"

That seems to be a recurring theme here. It's really easy to call the system shit. Everyone knows it's shit. What a useless thing to say.

It's hard to find a solution or say something useful. I observe that a lot of this sort tend to gravitate towards eachother and just echo the easy things to say.

I once got into an argument with a writer who very shamelessly used a really low quality AI generated image for their cover. After going on several comments, they eventually said their publisher picked the cover.

I just about lost it. Imagine leaving that decision to the publisher??
