Mention the hypocrisy, needle them on what is protecting other forms of expression, demand to know what else might be at risk.

More people need to be mad, more people need to be speaking out - and more media needs to be covering this. This isn't just about some niche group, it is about our fundamental ability to produce and share art. We were right when we said they'd expand their scope before - they will do so again.

Paypros, banks, and yes even politicians have more than proven that this faux moralism is a soulless attempt to simply empower 'ai' - they prattle on about moralism while turning around and cutting deals with openai and musk who are now producing porn based on our work (and real-life photos too!).

Age verification, the paypro censorship, and the move towards using llms to produce content instead of people not only threatens my future - but makes all the effort I've put into everything at risk. I didn't have the reach I got handed to me, and I know a lot of other artists that didn't either.

Again I'm not just some 'newbie' - my actual art account on the site I've been using since 2011 has quite a bit more followers than here and even my itch does (been averse to using social media like bluesky or twitter). A pretty cozy following that I worked very hard to earn through effort.

It really does feel like we are entering an age of not just censorship - but of a broad move towards full corporate artificiality in terms of artwork; not just the usual stuff churned out by companies who barely pay people, overwork teams, and the like - but ones that don't even hire teams.

I am not sure about others experience, but I've definitely been trying to look for other ways to make money. However it isn't like a lot of things with my field of expertise are looking for people - and I somehow feel like that is also to do with 'ai'.

Substar is currently my only real source of income since my games are not allowed to be sold on the platforms they were on anymore, and since its now even harder to use other paypros for commissions - apparently even SFW ones. I'm not really sure what the plan is if that goes too.

A reminder that this is, in fact, meant to be an art account for me to post my writings, drawings, and games. Despite current circumstances, I am still making artwork!

Do not let politicians at the back and call of data harvesting corporations fool you, laws like the OSA or any Age verification laws are not to protect anyone, they are to surveil your online existence and censor whatever the government doesn't want known.

As I said in my flap-thread, I can only speculate as to why that is the case. However, I'm not going to stop talking about this and trying to raise awareness to it.

It is at the point where an account I made to advertise my games and share my content - this account - has almost exclusively flapped about this issue. I've replaced advertisements of my commissions on my uploads with calls to action. I've done more than some journalists to raise awareness.

I have an entire list of news sites I've contacted that have published sex-work positive, pro-NSFW, and/or anti-censorship stories before that never even bothered to get back to me. Its pretty frustrating that it feels like this mass wave of anti-culture is being ignored by some outlets.

100%, do research into pre-made blocklists; who maintains them, what criteria is used, etc. You cannot assume that they are all made with professional objectivity.

There isn't any need to try to compromise with the censorship position on this, at all - period. The first game called out was legal, all other games banned were legal. This isn't people being banned from sites, it is an effort to remove the economic viability of content creation.

And as a reminder, to be clear, we are talking about fully legal (at least as of writing this) fictional content involving fictional creations in fictional scenarios. We are talking about people censoring something for what popular media like GTA or Game of Thrones or Family Guy have in spades.

Also want to append by saying that every time I see someone in a space I'm in talk about creating an alternative platform or using their own existing and contacts to help artists I immediately contact them. So far I've not found a single viable alternative for all content creators.

Also, please remember to be polite when writing an email to either orgs or content creators. Especially if you edit it also remember to read it over again after.

I wrote personalized edits of templates to each of these sites, based on their own reporting and the fact that I am not just a consumer of content - but someone who has been creating in this space for well over a decade now. However if people want to help they can find templates to send to orgs.

Its important to keep the pressure up, and the more people that are aware of this issue and how to make a stand against it - the stronger that pressure can be. There are a lot of problems in the world, I know - some seem insurmountable. However, this is one we can overcome!

I know its a long shot, especially given how small bluesky is as a site and how difficult it is to get any exposure here what-so-ever - but if you also are someone that has a vested interest in protecting creative expression then please consider also reaching out to these folks.

I just want them to talk about this issue and mention what people can do to fight against it. I want to be free to make a living and be able to do what I am good at and love, making content for my audience and growing that audience! I just want the right to live in peace.

I'm not trying to land some interview with these people (though I AM a content creator impacted by this). I'm not looking for a 'free shout out'. I am trying to help bring attention to an issue these people should be taking just as seriously as myself.
