We put in a very strong performance at practice night - we managed some home grown Cambridge Minor on the front six and, wonder of wonders, managed a touch of Stedman Triples 🙌 this all made up for having to ring Aberdare St Elevan Place Triples …

Highlight of the week so far: discovering Teasel (my cat) was second on the vet’s waiting list - after The Duke of Purr. One does have to respect the hierarchy …

Perky little practice tonight, with the main focus on Double Court Bob Minor to help with treble awareness. However having almost got to grips with that, we moved on to Single Oxford. Too much for my poor little brain to process 😂

Yet another packed ringing chamber this time for tonight’s monthly All Saints practice - we managed to get through loads!!! More of us are ringing Cambridge which is great news - and we also caught up with old friends Double Oxford and St Clements. Huge fun 🤩

Both towers were bursting at the seams today with about 16 ringers at each, so standing room only in the ringers lounge at Tower Two. The lower at Tower One with chiming in queens was a huge success and the Stedman was pleasant at both

Another fun practice night - most things didn’t go according to plan, but my excuse, which I am sticking to, is that I was distracted by other people going wrong 😉 my touch of Grandsire Doubles unexpectedly came round though, thank goodness!

Well the pumpkin was for lowering all eight in peal - the spider is hanging by its thread between the two Stedmans 😀

Tonight’s ringing was eclipsed by the fact I was gifted some shiny, googly eyed Halloween stickers for the ringing record book. I went on to award us an ugly, fat, purple spider and a glittery pumpkin - there was also Stedman Doubles, Stedman Triples and chocolates 🕷️🎃

Look at the plaster I got at my flu jab today - the NHS has literally trolled me! (BTW it’s not now attached to my arm, just in case you were concerned about the jaundiced skin)

Unbelievable!!! It was the perfect exhibition for the Halloween season - as well as that spider, the three blind mice are etched onto my retina

The Paula Rego exhibition at @norwichcastle.bsky.social was remarkably good - however after lingering over her Little Miss Muffet print I may never sleep again, it’s truly terrifying!!!

In a very strange turn of events, the Stedman at tower 1 was better than the Stedman at tower 2 - the autumn sunshine however was fantastic at both

If there’s that many Stedman ringers it becomes Stedman Hour! 😀

One of those great practice nights that’s low in numbers and you therefore get to ring in absolutely EVERYTHING 😊 my touch of Stedman came round but I sadly stuffed up my touch of Grandsire! We had double chocs and I got to ring the tenor down 🎉

It’s a principle and great for moving people on from treble bob hunt - plus it’s a cheery and positive thing to call “Go forward!” 😊

Another fun and crowded practice night - it’s great having so many learners in the tower 😊 we rang SO MANY things but I particularly enjoyed the Stedman Triples, Forward Major, lowering the 7 and handing round the chocs 😋

Now that would indeed be a surprise 😀

Thanks for checking! I’m very much better thank you - I was just away belatedly celebrating my Mum’s birthday as I couldn’t go and see my parents when I was ill 😊 I hope to get a full week’s ringing this week🤞

So sad I missed out on the surprise surprise! I would have enjoyed writing that in the book 😊

I had the loveliest of lunchtimes at @mrdc1715.bsky.social with some old friends (Grandsire, Stedman, St Martins/St Simons spliced) and a brand new acquaintance (Sandal Treble Bob) - thank goodness for the whiteboard and blue marker pen 🤣

Just the practice I needed - focused on consolidating my Cambridge and Norwich and rang some Stedman 💕 loved treble bobbing to the Munden and now feeling more positive at having another go inside at that and the Chester 😊

Loved being back at practice - reassuringly nothing has changed! There was Stedman Triples x2 and Doubles (but none of it entirely successful), Grandsire Triples, Bob Major, and rounds and call changes galore - and chocs of course 😊

Only enough oomph to ring at tower one today but it was so lovely to be back! A solid Sunday all round, nothing untoward happened, and most importantly there was some Stedman thrown in 😊
