They have rules (mark & S&G) where if you indicate to the ref taking one action but take another it's a turnover. They could potentially go that route.

20-second limit for goal kicks extends to free kicks Earlier this month, a 20-second time limit was placed on kick-outs with the punishment being a 13-metre free. Dublin’s Evan Comerford and Galway’s Connor Gleeson fell foul of the change.

20-second limit for restarts now expanded out to apply to all frees (breaches resulting in a throw-in).

Unclear if this applies to keepers taking frees (clock gets stopped atm, so no time wasted). Could see it going either way, as it would speed the game up.

Would be the most likely & most information while still in condensed form. The 2pt free the 'worst'.

With the new speed... yeah. It's so much more demanding now.

That said... with 3/3, advanced mark and the 2 point arc there's potentially a whole new life for the odd 40 year old with a long range boomer or the bear in the square if the team can accomodate the athletic demands raised on others.

It's a shame about the 'hand over' necessity of that rule. That will frustrate so many for silly infractions.

Punishing on the delay intent alone would have been perfect.

That said, it's one of the biggest changes of the day. We just got a MUCH faster game. Love it.

This one WILL have a few terrible calls from refs (especially in year 1) but the benefits far outweigh the risks or the cons there, IMHO.

Fingers crossed they can manage to reach a fairly consistent interpretation of the rule fairly quickly.

Not keen on necessity for 'handing over' personally, should punish the intent of delaying rather than demanding specific 'positive' actions, but overall a massive boost for speed of play & excitement of the game.

Interesting cat & mouse going to be played there, especially combined with the higher speed of the 'new' game.

We saw a couple in the interpros where the advantage was rewarded (& thus ended) prior to any shot taken or attempted.

The judgement/subjectivity of those calls could become a point of contention (but love the rule personally).

The fact the intercounty comes first should help that, at least a little.... you'd hope.

The feedback from the clubs in Meath who trialled it for their regional competition was way more positive than I'd expected. I'd have high hopes for the new speed of it all.

I'm guessing the Advanced Mark & Tactical Fouling (50m advancement) the two most likely to struggle from what we've seen so far from counties.

Some really odd calls so far in this Ireland Wales play-off match.

We're getting (more than) our fair share of them, so hard to complain too much, but still baffling to watch. So many blatant barges or pushes in the back ignored by officials staring right at them.
