Just finished this binding using a template ruler. IMO it is more cumbersome and time consuming than just laying them perpendicular and sewing diagonally from intersection to intersection then trimming.

Got some quilty things today. Silicone cleaning brushes and tweezers for around my longarm, a corner trimmers to help with diagonal binding seams, and two spools of dissolving thread for practicing free motion quilting on a Halloween panel that has yet to arrive.

No, I have not. I’m not much of a fan of this batting either. It distorts far too easily while manipulating.

Finally received my flower quilt backing and batting. I’ve got it loaded and started quilting it out. Loving it so far.

Occasionally I suppose but I have a pretty good quilt/life balance. I quilt Tue thur Sat and video game on Sun and Mon.

After three days away from quilting I’m back at it. Cut all the sashing and have completed two of five rows so far today.

I’m colorblind and my husband chooses most of my fabrics.

Oh wow. Some Star Trek level fabric cutting.

I can imagine. I’d probably go off label use and MacGuyver something. I have a few projectors I use for Halloween and a computer running AutoCAD I can design in. I was actually thinking of using both in quilting.

Isn’t the future projection patterns though?

Yes, King Tut is what I’d be ordering. King Tut has two colorcards too. I’d like to try their Piecing thread too.

I’ve seen milling videos about staple length. Reminds me of the Kellogg Post flake roller saga. There was one manufacturer of rollers and Post bought all the machines preventing Kellogg from getting more.

I’m exclusively cotton thread.

I know nothing of threads or the industry. I’m just kinda learning “this stuff”.

Yeah so far everywhere I’ve looked has been out of stock.

Until I can get ahold of a thread colorcard for the different Superior. I’m using locally sourced thread that I can easily color match. Coats and Clark machine quilting thread.

Oh it is lint clean out with every bobbin on my longarm. Me thinks it’s me thread.

Every 4 bobbins I take my machine apart and clean it out, change the needle, and give a drop of oil.
