Honestly I've felt this way since the first rumblings of gamergate, but feel like fandoms ruin things for me. The constant show negativity ruined the several Wheel of Time communities I was in.

People like "Oh I hope the next adaptation will be more faithful" and I just keep thinking, why would any studio ever pay to adapt epic fantasy ever again. Time and again fans are fickle, picky, want a direct translation that is un-filmable. When it doesn't make expectations they throw a fit.

The Wheel of Time show getting canceled is sad because season 3 was on such an upswing for me. I doubt we will ever get another chance at adaptation in my lifetime, and I'd be surprised if any epic fantasy gets picked up either.
