I'm sure Jonathan Greenblatt would deny this, but it's telling that when asked to defend his insistence that young Jews in the US are just as strongly pro-Israel as older Jews, he cites synagogues and JCCs in wealthy parts of Manhattan. There's a class bias in which Jews the ADL sees as its base.

Democrats didn't fix it because of Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. That really isn't a deep "soul searching" question unless "soul searching" is about threatening to investigate Manchin's pharma exec daughter for crimes.

Quick little fact check here: Israel has armed the Burmese military for decades, including during the Rohingya Genocide. Protesting Israel’s genocidal regime directly and materially benefits the people of Myanmar.

The NAACP exists to protect the American Black community from racism and discrimination when they occur, and that includes everyone in the Black community, including the minority who voted for Trump. Greenblatt just openly thinks anti-Zionist Jews have made themselves unworthy of protection.

Greenblatt compares the ADL's relationship to anti-Zionist Jews to the NAACP's relationship to "Blacks for Trump," but if Blacks for Trump are subject to racial discrimination, the NAACP will still represent them. The ADL has been open about saying it is not trying to protect anti-Zionist Jews.

The people asserting that all forms of anti-Zionism are antisemitism are *not* trying to expand the breadth of what constitutes antisemitism, but to shift it. It is not coincidental that those same people are excusing Elon Musk or Viktor Orbán from antisemitism, because they are seen as pro-Israel.
