Dem Rep Jason Crow of Colorado: "I went to war three times for this country and learned that when elites in Washington bang the war drums, working class folks pay the price. The tough talk of a five-time draft dodger falls flat for Americans tired of military adventurism."

Interestingly, GOP Speaker Mike Johnson yesterday canceled House votes on Friday March 6. So now the House is only in session on Wednesday and Thursday of the coming week. Not a lot of time for a war vote.

There were earlier reports that Trump would address the nation this morning but the White House now says no in statement to pool: “This reporting was inaccurate, the White House has not given any guidance on an address or remarks today”

Dem Sen. Ed Markey: “Trump’s military attack on Iran is illegal and unconstitutional. It was not approved by Congress and holds dangers for all Americans. Trump’s illegal actions raise the threat of escalation into a wider regional war with grave risks for U.S. troops and civilians in the region."

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina praised the move on social media. “I echo President Trump’s call to the Iranian military, IRGC and security forces to lay down their arms. I echo his call to the Iranian people to take back their government,” said Graham.

Rep. Ro Khanna of California: "Trump has launched an illegal regime change war in Iran with American lives at risk," calls for vote on his war powers resolution with Rep. Tom Massie. "Every member of Congress should go on record this weekend on how they will vote."

There have no pool reports or other announcement from the White House other than the video, which is on Truth Social. It shows Trump in a white hat with the logo "USA," apparently speaking from Mar-a-Lago, which is where a lid was called around 9 last night after he traveled there from Texas.

LATEST ON ICE NEGOTIATIONS: Spokespeople for Leader Chuck Schumer and Leader Hakeem Jeffries: “We have received the White House’s counteroffer and are reviewing it closely. Democrats remain committed to keep fighting for real reforms to rein in ICE and stop the violence.”

PER KANSAS REFLECTOR: The American Civil Liberties Union and Philadelphia-based Ballard Spahr law firm filed the lawsuit on the men’s behalf late Thursday in Douglas County District Court. The lawsuit also asks the court to block the law from taking effect while the case is being argued.
