Also, there’s more to life than rice&beans. Jiffy mixes are great, affordable, add a lot/bulk up a meal. Potatoes, sweet & yellow/white. Ground turkey, breakfast sausage—frozen section quick to make good in a lot of things. Slow-cook oatmeal. Chickpeas. Egg noodles. Frozen veg. Pudding&jello mixes.

In the absence of a government that works on behalf of its people, I would love to see the major grocery chains unlock the dumpsters behind their stores and distribute the fresh food they throw away to people who need it. But capitalism.
