It was a whole very annoying thing. Most of it was couched in jokes like “where’s will smith when you need him” but a lot of seemingly progressive people were vehemently arguing that he should not have been allowed to be there.

I agree with this.

Well they do. And they stay out of quiet spaces to not make a disturbance. And they stay away from kids if they swear. And many stay pretty isolated because they’re used to being treated like they’re bad people, disruptive and inconvenient. So you win I guess.

I understand what you’re saying. I understand where you’re coming from. But it’s not about “rights” any more than someone with Parkinson’s accidentally hitting you because of a tremor. People with this want to be understood. I’d be interested to hear the opinions of Black people with Tourette’s.

This is genuinely one of the most ableist things I’ve ever heard anyone say and shows a deep ignorance of neurological disorders. Absolutely fuck yourself.

I won’t speak to this context because it is involuntary, regardless of what is being said. I understand that slurs are bad and affect people. People with Tourette’s want people to understand that whether it’s slurs, insults or any other antisocial behaviour they have no control over it.

Tourette’s is a disability that causes involuntary outbursts and excluding people from a space because of a disability is not a solution.

I suppose that’s why campaigning for Tourette’s is necessary.

I guess Canada will just have to be content that our government is not run by pedophiles. :(
