Salute to a man who was probably the single most important studio engineer of my most formative years and beyond. He shaped sound, sharpened samples and varnished vocals. Tribe, De La, The Roots, Badu, D’Angelo and too many more. A true wizard.

I've said that I don't care what awards Sinners wins because the acclaim is the acclaim. Ryan Coogler is a master of craft and Hollywood knows it. The public knows it based on his box office returns.

But this is pretty amazing.

It's jarring going from watching these new episodes of "Scrubs" to the older ones. Two different worlds but good feelings. We'll see how this reboot goes for 1 of my favorite shows.

For sure. I think Isbell is one of those where if you hear his best stuff, you’ll say okay I get it. That’s what I learned hearing his stuff with the Truckers. A band with 2 great writers and then you hear Outfit and it’s like ohhh that’s why people thought highly of him.

I played Southeastern finally last year and I get why folks love that record (mainly Cover Me Up) so much. I came on to Isbell in 2016-17 and I love Something More than Free and the 400 Unit albums. But that album has such amazing songwriting/storytelling.

Learning the NBA, I loved reading how fast paced those 1980s Nuggets teams were. Doug Moe was running and gunning in that altitude with Alex English, Fat Lever and more. Much respect and peace to his family, loved ones and former players.

Yeah Gen-Z lololol. We were outside when that song hit and folks loved it. But somehow the kids have made it even more beloved cause when I saw them in 2019, people weren't losing their minds besides it being a popular jam.

From what we know, Wasserman only sent flirty emails to Ghislaine Maxwell years before Epstein’s crimes became public. Tisch emailed Epstein directly about meeting women after his 2008 conviction.

Carter G Woodson purposely started Negro History Week on February 7th so that it would end on February 14th, which is Frederick Douglass's birthday

This is awesome. I was raised on John P Kee among many others growing up in church. Mom played his songs practicing for the choir. Gonna enjoy this.

And it’s infuriating because it doesn’t have to be this way. It’s saddening because I have skin in this. Friends and colleagues affected.

It’s been a hard day for anybody who loves journalism and respects what it means. Forget the fact I’m in this business. I grew up a reader. I studied media criticism. I still read other papers to learn or just enjoy.

You can’t replace what’s been lost and what will be lost from this news.
