If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

Motion Lines How do you show motion in a medium that doesn’t move?

The exhibit I co-curated at The Billy Ireland, Motion Lines: How Cartoonsts draw Movement, closed this past weekend... but if you missed it there's now this great online version--one of the very few they've done this for!

Oh boy, I overheard another great set of takes from the art school students / recent grads here in town. I guess Ari Aster is the greatest filmmaker ever and Quentin Tarantino is like, so like, boring and like, terrible.

Hmm...Advance Publications owns Teen Vogue and 30% of reddit...and just before this election the journalists at Teen Vogue are axed and Reddit is shut down?

Ironic that the journalism at Teen Vogue would be gutted under the direction of Murphy Brown's daughter.

I'm glad these guys appreciated Black Devil Doll From Hell. It's like the film equivalent of a Henry Darger or Howard Finster. The PFS of SAV screened it at the Sentient Bean - imagine sitting next to a blackout curtain with your coffee and then hearing this movie playing on the other side.

Before last year’s election, my wife and I took our grandsons on a tour of the nation’s capital, realizing it might become quite different if Trump won. I kept thinking the symbols of democracy might turn into symbols of tyranny. We toured the White House’s East Wing. It’s being demolished now.

I really wish I could've understood more of the dialogue in THE LONG WALK. It was like listening to dialogue being read through a drive-thru speaker. I hope it was just a theater issue. Otherwise it was a pretty good movie!

Paramount/Skydance - we have to cancel Colbert, his show lost CBS all this money.

ALSO: Oh yeah, we have $150 million dollars to give to a far-right influencer who cozies up to far-right billionaires to head CBS news.

I like watching these and then going to the "movies" subreddit to see the supposed "movie fans" over there complain about how they've never heard of any of these films and people in the closet are faking an interest in such obscure films.

ER doc here! This is a lie. Wait times are up because the American healthcare system is an unsustainable business model and a for-profit national healthcare system just doesn’t work. These problems will continue to get worse until we change that system. It literally has nothing to do with immigrants

Every single one of these clips was taken today in downtown Portland. Portland doesn’t want or need a federal takeover. If Trump insists on sending federal β€œresources” he can start with funding health care, bridges, affordable housing, and wildfire protection to name a few.

A private equity guy grows a conscience and decides to not destroy companies? C'mon, that's a little too much.

In light of Vanity Fair's recent idiotic decision, WaPo's offering its veteran critic a buyout, the NYT's "reassigning" three arts writers critics, etc., a lot of us are talking about the public's (and thus publications') lack of interest in criticism. It's part of a larger pattern of a war...

I might post about more of the books, and people may think "How would a sci-fi fan not have read that book when they were 12?" In short, I grew up in a town with no real bookstore, and my copies of Lord of the Rings were taken and burned at the behest of the church.

I think of myself as a sci-fi person but I have huge holes in my sci-fi reading, so in trying to fill in some of those gaps I'm picking through authors I somehow haven't read yet. First up was Piers Anthony. There are some sci-fi I think are timeless and I don't think this was one of them.
