I don’t think it’s useful to create this kind of comparison. It puts you in a position of describing mass rape and trafficking of children as some kind of lesser problem and for what? Why do that? How does it advance any solutions?

I think also, it’s not only an issue of bad ppl taking/profiting from my work. As a creator, anyone taking my work & presenting it as theirs feels like a violation, you know? Even if it wasn’t about money, or wasn’t a Nazi doing it, I’m never gonna feel good about being erased from my own work.

For me it’s more 1 & 3 than 2. My work is always gonna be pretty niche and for a smaller audience of witchy queerdos. I want it to be visible enough for the right ppl to find it. I want to make a living & to have some measure of rights in how it’s used. IE to maintain relationship w my work.

I think this one points to how different works maybe need different approaches. Copyleft makes sense when you are thinking about work as information. Like nonfic books where the goal is to share knowledge. But paintings? It’s not about info. I’m not sure same model makes sense.

I do not love the state or have any allegiance to it as an enforcement mechanism for this. But I want something. I don’t have an answer for what else that might be.
