So the reason why this even came up.

We saw a video titled “Can the Scooby Doo gang solve the Kira case?”

We established already that Scoobs is immune to being killed by the Note cuz dog but also, can the DN be used to control Scoobs to kill the Gang, thus locking him up and/or getting put down?

Mixka should be a Death Note lawyer. I feel like if I’m ever naughty with a Death Note, you’d be able to bail me out in the eyes of the Shinigami King.

Fair enough. Now I wonder if there are like Shinigami lawyers or something because this seems like an oversight of there isn’t.

I’m guessing it depends on the circumstances! Saying “X dies of pneumonia” in the winter in the NE is probably a lot more reasonable than “X dies of chickungunya” when they are nowhere near the place where it’s endemic!

That sounds like a lot of work. And a good reminder of the Note’s limitations.

Though now I wonder if the note can be theoretically used to set up those circumstances.

“X flies Y to France on date and dies at time of a heart attack. Y then dies from falling off the Eiffel Tower.”

Ya know what? That’s fair. I guess it would also stand to reason that writing “Bob will die from his house collapsing on him” when it’s a brand new house might not work either.

It does call into question if it violates the “only the target can die” rule, especially if the animal has to be put down due to the attack.

That is fair! We are also wondering if the animal has to be put down or dies as a result of the attack, would that void the “only the target’s life can be taken” rule?

Fair enough. But then the other question is, if the animal has to be put down because of the attack, then technically that’s a death beyond just the target’s death which breaks the rules of the Note.

We’ve got a robust debate!

If we get a dog to attack the human, and the dog has to be put down because of the attack, would it null the Death Note’s power? 🧐

See, the crux of the debate is:

Death Note specifies only *humans* can be killed by it.

In addition, it also states that if the controlled actions would result in deaths aside from the target’s, then the target would just die of a heart attack.

Y’all, please help hubby and I settle a debate.
