Maybe they didn't properly think this through 😬

On no. 3, new leadership *for Labour* is the most likely outcome of this election, be it Sarwar or Starmer, or both.

On no. 4, I dunno but maybe Labour lecturing others on ending division is a bit rich from the guy who called on his own boss to quit?

Of the two bases the UK has given the US permission to use to launch "defensive" airstrikes against Iran, one of those bases is in Gloucestershire, England: RAF Fairford and Diego Garcia.

Summary of the UK Government legal position: The legality of defensive action in respect of Iranian regional attacks Summary of the UK Government legal position: The legality of defensive action in respect of Iranian regional attacks

Looks like the UK is getting involved – in 'a specific and limited' way...

But UK Gov claims this defensive action against missile facilities in Iran 'does not signal the UK having any wider involvement in the broader ongoing conflict between the US, Israel and #Iran.'

Drop in overseas workers is β€˜car crash’ for UK hospitals and care homes, say experts Care roles hit particularly hard by UK’s lurch to the right on migration, according to analysis of Home Office data Hospitals and care homes in the UK face β€œan impending car crash”, experts have warned, as research shows the number of overseas nurses and carers has collapsed. Analysis of Home Office quarterly datasets reveals the number of overseas nurses granted entry to the UK has fallen by 93% over three years. Just 1,777 overseas nurses were granted entry in 2025, compared with 26,100 in 2022. Continue reading...

Tactical voting β€˜to hand SNP stunning Holyrood majority’ An MRP poll suggests collapse in support for Labour could result in a landslide for the Nationalists and a mandate for a second independence referendum

It is just a (mega) poll. That extraordinarily yellow map will look ambitious to regular followers of #ScotPol.

But if these Holyrood majority predictions do come to pass, that'll be a mandate for a second Scottish IndyRef... #SP2026

β€œPeople need to hear a story like this now,” says Pinar Aksu. β€œWe don’t always have a victory at the end of our stories but hope is all we have got.” Great piece on what sounds like a terrific, massively timely film that gives the lie to the notion that most communities see newcomers as a threat.

Yrs, this Irish one was great. There is a Traitors New Zealand one that is superb, with a similar streak of ousting traitors. But for me, at least, Alan Carr, Celia Imrie and the rest of the celebrity Traitors UK still pip the others, that series was pure joy!

Managed to watch entirety of The Traitors Ireland (on BBC UK) with no spoilers.

Love how much they laugh, the camaraderie.
Love how clued in they are at catching traitors.

Will admit smirking at how the An Garda SΓochΓ‘na example proves – again – police seem to be rubbish at this show

Opinion | In the Resistance, We Drive Minivans

My friend, the brilliant essayist Will McGrath, wrote an essay about the beauty of resistance in all its forms here in Minneapolis.

"Everyone is doing his part here, each to his ability. This is easier to accomplish, it seems, when joy and love are the engines."
