Sharing a lesson I just learned... I have a Santander cycle membership in London, so I can hire bikes with a key. Someone who appeared to be very distressed was waiting at the station I returned a bike to, and duped me into hiring a bike for them. Of course they didn't return it. [1/n]

He didn’t realize there was another option. A change of direction and help from a friend rescued him.

Some of you may remember Clifford from my posts last summer. He climbed until he had nowhere to go, at a dead end, nor realizing that a change of direction would give him new hope. I moved him and he went on to live a full life.
We have to know when to change directions, & when to accept help.

I love the way the universe doesn't always behave the way we expect it to. That's why "common sense" is not always a good way to predict things and can lead us astray (besides which sense is also not that common!😉).

Large glass jug of cool, refreshing ice tea

I don’t drink alcohol and find most soft drinks too sweet and wish more restaurants / bars over here would serve proper ice tea like in America. I make my own at home by sticking a couple of tea bags in a jug of cold water with a tablespoon of honey and leaving it in fridge for few hours.

Not heard of that one. Sounds like I may be too late. I do have green tea and earl grey. Will try a comparison.

I'm one of those strange people who can cope better with a drink that's too warm than one that's too cold. I've spent days of my life waiting for beverages to reach a temperature I can bear to drink! Same with too hot.

PS: Will try your iced tea suggestion.

I rarely buy any drinks away from home but I'm not a fan of ice and always ordered "no ice please". It's surprising how many times I've been given a glass of ice with a few ml of drink in there. It's so much the norm that people can't stop themselves!
