Also, every show in this genre was made for the children of its own time. This fact is true regardless of what era any program comes from. The judgement of what is bland or uncreative should be based not merely on the era of origin, but rather on the actual lack of quality of the program itself.

I just saw that question over on Quora and, Jeff, I honestly agree with your answer. Every generation of television history has its own share of quality children's programming. And no one generation's wave of shows deserves to be judged (in its entirety) as better, or worse, than the other.
