Look at those faces! Fabulous
09.09.2025 12:37 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Beautiful and impressive kitties!
09.09.2025 12:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You are so right. I may even have gone triple treat, just to be sure I was back in their good graces.
09.09.2025 03:04 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A gorgeous princeling!!
09.09.2025 02:52 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Three long-haired cats face the camera grouped close together on a bed. Far left cat is a brown and black tabby who looks long-suffering. Middle cat is a white and grey tabby with a baby face who is happy to be included. Far right cat is also a brown tabby but with more gray in his coat. He is alert to any motion the photographer may make in the direction of the treats.
I know itβs not Caturday but I was late with the evening treat and found this waiting for me.
09.09.2025 01:41 β π 935 π 53 π¬ 33 π 4Happy Independent Bookstore day! It's always a great day to support indie bookstores, but I'm glad for this chance to celebrate them especially! I am so grateful for all they do for communities, readers, and writers. Support indies with online ordering too--through their websites or bookshop.org
26.04.2025 14:33 β π 50 π 12 π¬ 1 π 0Circe, Achilles, Galatea, and even an obscure short story I wrote long ago.
20.03.2025 14:21 β π 52 π 6 π¬ 3 π 1A long-haired brown tabby cat is curled up on a white coverlet with small blue dots. The cat is wearing a bright pink knitted beanie with holes for ears. The catβs eyes are partially closed. He looks sleepy and contented. And very sweet.
Thought I would share my new coping mechanism pic. My child asked a good friend to knit a pink hat for our cats, and he graciously agreed. We donβt usually put clothes on our cats because they are NOT fans, but Muffin was very sleepy and agreed to model.
20.03.2025 14:11 β π 83 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0I hope it's okay that I passed this on to the teacher in question from you! He is indeed amazing!
11.03.2025 13:04 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Sending much love to you, your mom and your family. The art is beautiful.
07.03.2025 19:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A poster for the economic blackout on February 28. It is a big red Jack rabbit on an aqua blue back ground. It says economic blackout in hand done black type. There are two black speech bubbles. One says βdonβt buy stuff Friday February 28th. The other says we have power. Below it says No Amazon, Walmart, target, gas food, gas. Below that it says OK small business, use cash. Designed by Martha Rich.
I made this the other night while procrastinating, mainly because I thought all the posts about the blackout were boring. It feels like there is momentum bringing people together!
27.02.2025 01:39 β π 9507 π 4988 π¬ 291 π 445Thanks for tagging, I didnβt think he had an account! And yes, totally agree!
17.02.2025 02:15 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Love these three short videos from fellow Long Covider Matt McGorry on 4 common Covid myths. He nails it on all counts. I wear an N95 mask in all public spaces to protect myself from Covid, flu, and other viruses, and to make sure I'm not spreading them to others.
16.02.2025 17:57 β π 38 π 6 π¬ 1 π 0There are so many people we need to stand up for right now. Thanks to all of you who are calling their reps, protesting, donating, and taking action. Here is a great trans rights organization that I've been donating to. If you have others you love, share below! southernequality.org/tyep/
04.02.2025 23:35 β π 62 π 14 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you so much! (And I'm sorry!)
01.02.2025 16:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Okay, I cannot recommend 5calls.org enough. Enter your address and it will find all your reps (federal and state). AND give you a list of issues to call about AND which reps to call about each of them AND a little script for each, in case it's helpful. They have an app, too.
30.01.2025 17:08 β π 2282 π 1388 π¬ 100 π 132Thank you so much for such kind words! It means a lot and happy reading!
27.01.2025 23:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you for the very kind words! These bans are grounded in bigotry, ignorance, and malice, and so often those banning haven't even read the books.
26.01.2025 17:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Please give your daughter Circe my very very best, and thank her for her kindness about my work. I'm so honored, and so very glad to know that she is doing well!
26.01.2025 16:03 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Here are two places you can go for more info on how to fight book bans in your area. (4/4)
www.ala.org/bbooks/banne...
bookriot.com/how-to-fight...
It's another good reason to get involved locally in libraries and school boards. If you know of attempts to ban books, or to intimidate teachers into removing them from classrooms, make a record, and speak up. And as always, support your local librarians, who are fighting the good fight! (3/4)
26.01.2025 15:33 β π 73 π 13 π¬ 1 π 0My own books, THE SONG OF ACHILLES and CIRCE, have both been banned in various places, including in FL, TN, IA. I don't have a full list, because I usually only find out later--often these things are done quietly, or pushed through at the whim of a few people who are making a big noise. (2/4)
26.01.2025 15:33 β π 70 π 10 π¬ 3 π 0The sharp increase of book bans in libraries and schools the last couple of years is truly disturbing--and it's another thing we must fight. So many brilliant, powerful, and vital books are on these lists, including the work of @pronounced-ing.bsky.social. Book challenges are also way up. (1/4)
26.01.2025 15:33 β π 106 π 24 π¬ 1 π 1Sorry I missed this! Working on my novel, and just finished a short story.
26.01.2025 04:29 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A close up of a cat, a long-haired brown Siberian tabby, draped over a personβs shoulder. She regards the camera with an inscrutable and direct gaze. Perhaps annoyed. Perhaps tolerant. Perhaps contemplating her inevitable win in the yearly Ruff contest among the three cats. Her whiskers are long and curved like Salvador Daliβs mustache.
Sif is five years old today and still tolerating us all (barely).
19.01.2025 23:05 β π 107 π 1 π¬ 7 π 0Always always thanks to the bookstores!
19.01.2025 05:26 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I never ended up joining TikTok but I remain incredibly grateful to booktok and all the people who spoke about my books there. It meant the world to me during some very difficult years. Sending much love and so many thanks to all the passionate readers, now and always.
19.01.2025 04:40 β π 193 π 5 π¬ 8 π 2Yes, they do! I think they ship most places internationally. (And thank you!)
26.11.2024 22:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As a follow up, the post-Thanksgiving season is crunch time for indie bookstores, so the sooner you get any special orders in the better. Thank you for supporting the wonderful work indie bookstores do all year!
26.11.2024 15:21 β π 16 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A couple of people have asked if I am still signing/personalizing books--yes! You can order my books year round from my lovely local indie bookstore, Main Point Books. Just specify that you'd like me to sign, and for whom, and they will get it in the mail. mainpointbooks.com/madeline-mil...
