SmartLess podcast expands into telecommunications
> By now, we have become so inured to products like Cardi B’s Whipshots and the dating app Rebel Wilson launched. So why does the name SmartLess Mobile feel so foreboding? https://t.co/ZiyVdrmkfH

• Yesterday, the podcast _SmartLess_ -hosted by comedians and actors Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes - announced they were launching a mobile-service provider called "SmartLess Mobile"
• The hosts of the show are pushing the service as a consumer friendly alternative to your typical phone plan, and highlighting it's "cheap limited-data plans". According to the hosts, most consumers are most likely on Wi-Fi most of the time, with Hayes exclaiming in the press release, "if your phone bill knew how often you're on Wi-Fi it would be embarrassed."
• This isn't a celebrity's first foray into owning their own mobile company, as Ryan Reynolds invested in Mint Mobile and sold his shares for $1.3 billion a few years ago. But different in the fact that nothing about SmartLess suggests that much interest in mobile network services, from both fans and the hosts themselves.
• Some notable comedy podcasts decided to create their own posters to mock this foray into telecommunications.
